Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Saturday led Ebonyi State delegates to the party’s 2026 elective national convention held at the Velodrome of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The convention, which drew 2,632 delegates from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), produced a new National Working Committee (NWC), positioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ebonyi State had 52 accredited delegates at the convention, including the newly elected state chairman, Hon. Chukwuma Igwe; Senator Igwe Nwagu; Senator Amah Nnachi; National Ex-Officio member, Mazi Moses Idika; and Hon. Chidiebere Egwu Goodluck, among others.
At the convention, Hon. Chidiebere Egwu emerged as the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, securing a position in the party’s national leadership.
Other key positions filled include Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary.
The newly elected 21-member NWC is expected to steer the affairs of the party as it prepares for future electoral contests.
