The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Aviation and Technology, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, has said that Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has redefined governance in Ebonyi State through transformative leadership in the last three years of his administration.
Obichukwu made the remark in a goodwill message issued to mark the governor’s third anniversary in office, where she congratulated him on what she described as purposeful, visionary, and people-oriented leadership.
Speaking on behalf of her family and staff of the Ministry of Aviation and Technology, the commissioner noted that the governor’s administration has recorded significant milestones in infrastructural development, human capital growth, and economic expansion across the state.
She highlighted the massive construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, public buildings, schools, and healthcare facilities as key achievements that have improved the living conditions of residents and enhanced connectivity across Ebonyi State.
According to her, one of the landmark projects of the administration remains the construction of an ultramodern international airport, which she said has positioned the state on the global economic map while opening up opportunities for employment and revenue generation.
“The ultramodern airport built to international standard has not only placed the state in the global economy but has also created sustainable employment opportunities for our youths and strengthened the state’s revenue base,” she stated.
Dr. Obichukwu further commended the governor’s commitment to human capital development through scholarship schemes, youth empowerment programmes, and skills acquisition initiatives aimed at reducing unemployment and promoting entrepreneurship among young people.
She also praised the administration’s efforts in job creation and economic empowerment, noting that interventions in agriculture, industrial development, access to portable water, and employment opportunities across sectors have positively impacted many families in the state.
On workers’ welfare, the commissioner lauded Governor Nwifuru for improving salaries and working conditions of civil servants, describing the gesture as a reflection of compassionate and responsive leadership.
She equally noted achievements in the education sector, including the establishment of the ICT University Oferekpe and the University of Aeronautics Onueke, as well as scholarship awards to over 1,000 students for studies within and outside Nigeria.
Obichukwu said these interventions demonstrate the governor’s determination to build a strong foundation for future leadership and sustainable development in Ebonyi State.
She added that the administration’s focus on peace, security, healthcare delivery, rural development, women empowerment, and social inclusion has continued to earn it widespread admiration.
The commissioner expressed confidence that the governor’s leadership would continue to bring greater progress to the state, praying for divine wisdom and strength for him as he continues to serve the people.
“Your leadership has indeed redefined governance in Ebonyi State, and your vision continues to inspire hope for a brighter future,” she concluded.
She congratulated the governor on his third year in office and wished him continued success in delivering democratic dividends to the people of Ebonyi State.
