2027: Ebonyi Youth Group Endorses Tinubu, Nwifuru, all APC candidates
As 2027 genera election draws near a socio cultural group Nwanne Ọnụ support group has endorsed President Ahmed Tinubu for president citing infrastructural development in the state as reason for the endorsement.
The Group also endorsed governor Francis Nwifuru, Sen. Anthony Ani, Hon. Nkemkanma Kama and Onu Ukpai for Governor, Senate, House of Representative and House of Assembly respectively.
The Group in a statement in Abakaliki on Sunday by the national President of the support group Hon. Anegu Okechukwu highlighted what they described as accessibility, engagement with constituents and contributions to grassroots development as reasons for their support assuring them of their second term bid.
They also commended Hon. Onu Ukpai for his accessibility and interventions in youth empowerment, education and community development, while taking turns to enumerate initiatives they attributed to his representation of Ohaozara West.
They described his youth empowerment initiatives, educational interventions, motorcycle distribution, facilitation of opportunities for young people and community development efforts as commendable.
“We will mobilize every youths, friends and our parents to vote for President Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Francis Nwifuru, Senator Anthony Ani, Nkemkama kama and Onu Ukpai in next year general election” he said.
“Mr. President has done well in providing infrastructure in the state, the super high way connecting Calabar, Afikpo, Abakaliki, Enugu, Benue, Nasarawa to Abuja is a clear testimony of our votes’.
“What of Nwifuru developmental projects which includes security, roads, upgrading of General Hospitals, the projects are numerous”.
Responding, Hon. Onu Ukpai who is House of Assembly Member representing Ohaozara West expressed appreciation to the youths for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to the constituency.
He announced that he will embark on the drilling of boreholes across villages in Uburu, as part of efforts to address the water needs of the communities.
Ukpai also disclosed that he had distributed 32 motorcycles to support young people with mobility and economic activities, adding that he would distribute another motorcycle the next day bringing the total to 33.
He further highlighted his investments in education and youth development, including his facilitation of the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) Study Centre in Uburu, as well as efforts towards facilitating employment opportunities for youths.
The lawmaker said his interventions extend beyond individual empowerment to broader community development, with emphasis on education, human capital development and initiatives that directly benefit constituents.
Speaking APC Zonal Legal Adviser, Mayor Ernest, Esq., expressed appreciation to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his leadership and acknowledged the support of the people of Uburu for his administration.
Mayor Ernest further affirmed that Uburu will supports all APC candidates, specifically reaffirming the community’s support for the endorsed candidates, including Hon. Onu Ukpai and Hon. Nkemkanma Kama.
He called for continued unity, peaceful political participation and grassroots mobilisation as the 2027 general elections approach.
The gathering ended with the youth leadership and Ward Coordinators reaffirming their commitment to sustained grassroots engagement and mobilisation across Ohaozara West in support of the endorsed candidates.
