EBHA Committee Commends Ikwo LG’s Project Execution

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy and EBSIIEC Matters has paid an oversight function visit to Ikwo Local Government Area to ascertain the standard and quality of projects embarked upon in the area.

The Chairman of the Committee and member representing Izzi East Constituency Hon Goodluck Obinna Mbam while briefing the council chairman reiterated the determination of the Committee to ensure proper execution of projects across the thirteen local government area of the state and therefore advised the council chairman to ensure that only people oriented projects were embarked upon not leaving the welfare of the people behind.

Hon Obinna Mbam Commended the Ikwo council Chairman for the environmental cleanliness of the council headquarters and quality job done in the area.

Speaking also,Some Members of the Committee Hon Kingsley Ikoro, Hon Abiri Godwin, Hon Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga, Hon Barr Alloysius Nwodo, Hon Ifeanyi Nwakpu and Hon Arinze Lucas Chukwu said the Committee was not for witch hunting but to ensure compliance with projects standards adding that what is worth doing at all needed to be done well.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area Hon Barr Sunday Nwankwo enumeratd the achievements of his administration to include installation of solar street lights, construction of rural roads,Domestication of Her Excellency pet project BERWO, sinking of many boreholes in all the wards , ongoing construction of legislative building, ongoing construction of traditional rulers secretariats , building of modern rice milk at Nwelem , empowerment scheme, ongoing renovation of Ikwo council hall and ensuring aggressive subsistence farming ramong others

He thanked the House Committee for the mood and manner they discharge their constitutional responsibility and assured that his local government will continue to adhere to due process in all engagement.
