The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, yesterday stated that it was going to launch a State-wide membership drive, in order to expand its base and increase visibility as a major opposition party in the State .
The Party resolved to remains united and strong even as it endorsed the National Executive Committee led by Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa and the State Executives led by Hon. Chukwudi Nwankwo and urged them to continue their good work in promoting the Party’s interests.
In a Communique issued at the end of its enlarged meeting in Abakaliki and signed by 26 leaders and stakeholders of the Party in the State, the Party faithfuls reaffirmed their commitment to APGA’s ideals and resolved to work together towards a stronger, more united Party in Ebonyi State.
The meeting, which discussed the Party’s strategic direction and unity in the State, assured supporters that the leadership crisis in the Party, which is before the Supreme Court, will soon be resolved in due course.
According to the Communique: “Going by the reports from the thirteen (13) indefatigable Local Government Chairmen and Executives, we salute your unwavering dedication and unrelenting efforts in advancing our party’s interests across various local governments, despite the recent mass defections to the ruling party.
“Your resilience and commitment are truly inspiring. In the face of adversity, you have demonstrated exceptional leadership, mobilizing support and ensuring our party remains strong and united. Your tireless work has not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for your contributions.”
Continuing, the Party decided to establish a Reconciliation Committee to address internal conflicts and foster harmony, create a strategic planning committee to develop a roadmap for the party’s growth, organize a regular stakeholders’ meetings to ensure inclusive decision-making.
