In a recent town hall meeting, Hon. Esther Chidiebere Agwu, representing Ohaukwu North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, advocated for increased participation of women in politics.
The meeting, held in collaboration with UN Women in Politics and attended by stakeholders, youths, and community members, served as a platform for Agwu to appreciate her constituents for their trust and support during her tenure.
During the interactive session, Hon. Agwu presented her stewardship report, highlighting key achievements in her office, and reaffirmed her loyalty to the party and the government of Ebonyi State under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
She expressed gratitude to her constituents and the UN officials for their partnership and support in advancing the agenda for women’s political empowerment.
The meeting also featured goodwill messages from various stakeholders, including the Chairman of Ohaukwu LGA, Hon. Prince Ikechukwu Stanley Odono, represented by the Vice-Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Ginikachi Gift Nwafor, and the Chairperson of the Council, Hon. (Mrs) Ukamaka Odono.
They commended the people of Ohaukwu North for their unwavering support for Hon. Agwu and thanked the UN Women in Politics for their collaboration.
The discussions included questions and answers, speeches, and evaluations involving Hon. Agwu, constituents, and UN officials, emphasizing the importance of continued advocacy for women’s representation in governance.
The UN officials expressed their appreciation for the community’s unique support for Hon. Agwu and encouraged her to maintain her commitment to serving the interests of Ohaukwu North Constituents.
