The Chief Executive Officer of Sunnystar BesNwofe Nigeria Limited, Elder Sunday Nwofe, has called on well-to-do individuals in society to assist the government in providing social amenities to the people, urging them to stop relying solely on the government.

Elder Nwofe made this call during the commissioning of five boreholes he drilled in different communities within Izzi Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.

The boreholes, which are strategically located in Oferekpe, Ochafu Igbeagu, Ndiofutu Inyimegu, Ndiatam, and Ndiezoke Ezza-Inyimegu villages, were aimed at addressing the long-standing issue of water scarcity in the rural areas.

Elder Nwofe stated that the initiative was his way of supporting the efforts of the Ebonyi State Government under Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, particularly in rural development and the provision of essential social amenities.

Commissioning the projects, the member representing Izzi West State Constituency, Mr. Godwin Abiri, expressed profound gratitude to Elder Nwofe for his selfless gesture, thanking him for donating the boreholes in his name.

He also lauded the governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for the numerous developmental projects executed in Izzi West State Constituency and Ebonyi State at large.

Mr. Abiri further urged the communities to take ownership of the boreholes and protect them as critical infrastructure for their well-being.

Other speakers at the event, including Mr. Emmanuel Nwele, Mr. Ikpete Friday, and Mr. Christian Ibina, echoed similar sentiments, commending Elder Sunday Nwofe and Mr. Godwin Abiri for following in the footsteps of Governor Nwifuru by bettering the lives of the downtrodden, particularly in rural areas. They also encouraged them not to relent in their efforts to uplift the people.
