Tinubu’s wife to commission Chuba Okadigbo’s airport runway

Ebonyi state government on Thursday announced it’s preparedness to welcome the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu at the Chuba Okadigbo international Airport on Friday.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the wife of the president, Oluremi will on her arrival commission the Chuba Okadigbo’s airport runway located at Ezza South LGA, Onueke.

Recall that the administration of governor Francis Nwifuru on assumption of office, one year ago, embarked on the rehabilitation of the Chuba Okadigbo’s Airport runway to be of international standard.

Investigation revealed that the governor spent over #17.8 billion for the rehabilitation of the longest airport runway in the SouthEast region.

The commissioner for Aviation and transport technology, Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu, in a statement shortly after a courtesy call by DSS and other security operatives on routine surveillance of the Airport, said that the state government is fully prepared for the commissioning.

She said that the commissioning of the runway by the wife of the President, sen. Oluremi Tinubu will mark the recommencement of full flight operation at the airport.

Obichukwu said that the asphalted Chuba Okadigbo’s airport runway is the longest in the SouthEast region, and therefore called on travellers to come to Ebonyi to take their flight, especially in this yuletides.

The Commissioner said: “I had an audience with the DSS on routine surveillance of the international Airport Onueke in preparation for the commissioning of the ASPHALTED Runway by the wife of the President Tinubu, Senator OLUREMI TINUBU.

“Chuba Okadigbo airport has fully recommenced flight operations and we call on the general public, travellers to come here and take their flights. This is because we have the best and longest runway in the southeast region” she stressed.

She further commended the enormous efforts of the state governor, Francis Nwifuru in ensuring that the runway is completed and being of intentional standard.
