A non governmental organization simply identified as Panju foundation has donated reading and writing desks to Ubeguiyioji Community Nursery and Primary school Akaeze in Ivo local government area of Ebonyi state to reduce number of out of school children and boost literacy rate of residents of the state.
Handing over the desks to the jubilant school children and management recently ,the Managing Director of Panju foundation Mr Emeka Anyim- Ude noted that the project is aimed at ameliorating the severe issues of lack of desks at some public schools in Ebonyi state.
Mr Anyim- Ude represented at the handover ceremony by Rev Isaiah Uchenna is optimistic that when good spirited individuals,NGOs and Cooperate organizations dive into providing needed materials/equipment to schools without waiting for government the standard of education in Nigeria could be rapidly boosted.
He encouraged the jubilant pupils to be focused in their studies as the foundation is committed to embark on numerous community development projects in all the countries of its operation.
According to Anyim- Ude, “The foundation was established by Nazmina Panju, Former UK Conservative party candidate for Hornsey & Friern Barnet at the 2024 parliamentary elections and Director British canadian international Education Ltd, a UK based educational consultancy firm that assists students to study in UK, USA, Australia, Canada and Dubai.
“The Panju foundation has been operating for 25 years and located in 5 countries including Nigeria to ensure educational advancement.

“The donation of desks project to Ubegu primary school Akaeze, Ebonyi state is aimed at ameliorating the severe issues of lack of desks at some Ebonyi state public schools. This intervention will hopefully assist in providing a conducive learning environment for the pupils. “
Receiving the desks, the visibly happy Headteacher of the school Mrs Agatha Ajah expressed great joy for the donation of desks to the school ,noting that it ends the era of pupils sitting on bare floor while learning because of insufficient desks .
According to Mrs Ajah the rural school established in the year 2000 with population of 203 pupils is also in need of water supply, perimeter fencing for security of school,well equipped library, toilet facility,class rooms among other needs hindering efficient and effective teaching and learning .

“We are grateful to the Donor. We promise to make proper use of the desks to the glory of God and betterment of mankind. With these desks,the pupils will hence sit comfortably while learning for a greater tomorrow. Before now most of them sit on either bare floor or on blocks which makes them uncomfortable,their uniforms easily dirty and worn out”
On their parts, the community chairman Mr Chukwudi Oyi and his counterpart in the School ‘s PTA forum Mr Darlington Joseph thanked the Donor for his benevolence towards the pupils ,assuring it will ensure rapid advancement of education in the state.
