The Executive Secretary of the Ebonyi State Health Insurance Agency (EBSHIA), Dr. Divine Okemefuna Igwe, has donated one million naira to the electrification project in Ndeguazu Ward, in Umuoghara community of Ezza North LGA, Ebonyi state.

He made this known during a community engagement forum he organized to honour the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and his spiritual mentor, Pst Eunice Oyeyemi, a senior pastor in Christ Embassy in the state. He used the forum to launch a passionate drive for the need to increase voter registration in the community.

Dr. Divine announced the donation of ₦1,000,000 to Ndeguazu Ward specifically to support the ongoing installation of electric poles in the area. In a broader gesture of support, he also donated ₦2,000,000 and two giant cows to the entire Umuoghara community in the Ezza North LGA of Ebonyi State.

Seizing the opportunity provided by the gathering, Dr. Divine stressed the importance of citizens securing their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).

“Let us raise a generation that values education, industry, and community development,” Dr. Divine stated, adding, “Let us empower our youths, honour our elders, and protect the dignity of our land. The strength of Umuoghara lies not in the noise of politics but in the harmony of purpose.”

He continued, “As a mark of love and gratitude to my people, I have come bearing gifts. Two big cows, a token of ₦2,000,000 to support transportation and logistics. In addition, I am supporting the ongoing installation of electric poles in Ndeguazu Ward with the sum of one million naira (₦1,000,000)—my little contribution to community development.”

The Executive Secretary of the Ebonyi State Pension Board, Dr. Emeka Nwonu, lauded Dr. Divine for his initiative.

“Today you have shown what a good leader should do. What you did is in three phases: to show appreciation to the Governor, thank the pastor for praying for us, and admonish us to get our PVC,” Dr. Nwonu noted, stressing the need to support the incumbent administration.

Princess Chibueze Chetachi, the Provost of Ebonyi State College of Health Science and Technology, described Dr. Divine as an invaluable asset. “I don’t think he has a duplicate; his name is equally unique,” she remarked, urging the community to heed his advice and support Governor Nwifuru in 2027.

Among the many dignitaries present who commended Dr. Divine for his good works were the lawmaker representing Ezza Northeast in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Kelvin Kenechukwu; the APC chairman Ezza North LGA, Chief Micheal Awoke; the traditional ruler of Okposi autonomous community, HRH Eze Anthony; and Prof. Hilary Ezeh.
