The South-East Zone of the Accord Party has reaffirmed its total loyalty and unwavering support for the party’s duly constituted National Leadership led by Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem as National Chairman, with Dr. (Mrs.) Adebukola Ajaja as National Secretary.

In a joint statement issued by the state chairmen in the zone made available to the press, the leaders declared that Accord has only one recognised and lawful National Leadership as provided by the party’s Constitution, stressing their full alignment with the decisions and directives of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The statement reads: “We, the State Chairmen of the Accord in the South-East Zone, hereby reaffirm our total loyalty and unwavering support for the duly constituted National Leadership of the party led by Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, as the National Chairman, and Dr. (Mrs.) Adebukola Ajaja, as the National Secretary.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we state clearly that Accord has only one recognised and lawful National Leadership, as provided for in the party’s Constitution. We align fully with the decisions and directives of the National Working Committee (NWC).

“We condemn in strong terms the activities of any splinter or parallel group operating outside the authority of the party, including a recently reported unauthorised primary exercise in Osun State, which did not follow due process and remains unknown to the party’s constitutional framework.

“We call on all members of the party nationwide to remain loyal to the Constitution of Accord, respect due process, and avoid actions capable of undermining the unity and stability of the party.

“The South-East Zone remains committed to internal democracy, party discipline, and constructive engagement with the National Leadership in building a united, credible, and progressive Accord Party.”
