The Federal House of Representatives Member for Ikwo/Ezza South Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, has stressed the importance of peace and unity among the people of Amagu Ikwo.
The lawmaker equally urged the people to give their unalloyed support to the government of the executive governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
He made this known to journalists at the end of Amagu Erimogwudu Kingdom day held at Ikwo South Development Center, in Ikwo Local Government Area, on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024.
Ogah commended Governor Nwifuru for his efforts in restoring peace across the state and his visionary leadership, which has significantly impacted the lives of the people. He urged Amagu indigenes to embrace peace and avoid actions that could disrupt the prevailing tranquility under the governor’s administration.
Acknowledging the contributions of Amagu sons in the diaspora, the lawmaker encouraged them to invest in the community to foster development. He further demonstrated his commitment to the community by pledging ₦5 million for the roofing and renovation of Amagu Motor Park.
Ogah also reiterated his dedication to promoting education by funding the annual payment of West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) fees for Amagu indigenes. This initiative, he noted, aligns with the “People’s Charter of Needs” mantra of Governor Nwifuru’s administration.
The event featured cultural displays, including traditional dances and masquerade performances.
