Aspiring Priest Passes Away a Week Before Ordination Following Cryptic Message

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Mr. Hillary Tobechukwu Eze, a seminarian from the Nsukka Catholic Diocese, has passed away just a week before his scheduled ordination as a deacon. The news of his untimely death has left the church, his family, and friends in profound shock and sorrow.

Eze, a native of Ehalumona town in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, was set to be ordained as a deacon on December 23, 2023. Unfortunately, he lost his life in a motor accident on Friday while traveling with his peers for a retreat in preparation for the ordination.

Adding to the somber circumstances, Eze had posted cryptic messages on his Facebook page just days before his tragic demise. In one post, he expressed uncertainty about the destination he was rushing towards but affirmed his trust in Jesus leading the way.

His poignant words included, ‘I sincerely do not understand where I am heading to, but I am rushing to that place. Why? Jesus is the one leading the way.’

In another post, he wrote, ‘Dabere Chineke (God). Lord, I put my trust in you.’ The eerie premonition has left many reflecting on the mysterious nature of life and its twists of fate.”
