Chukwueze Issues Warning Ahead of AFCON Clash: ‘No Small Country in Africa,’ Nigeria Prepares for Guinea-Bissau

Samuel Chukwueze, the winger for AC Milan, has sounded a warning to Nigeria’s Super Eagles as they gear up for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match against Guinea-Bissau. The Super Eagles are set to face Guinea-Bissau in their final Group A fixture at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan on Monday.

Following a 1-0 victory over Ivory Coast in their last game on Thursday, Jose Peseiro’s side is entering the match with momentum. Chukwueze emphasized the challenge ahead, stating, “This group is complicated, but the most important game now is the last game.”

He went on to stress the competitiveness of all teams in the AFCON tournament, noting, “There is no small country in this AFCON, and Guinea-Bissau is good. We’ve played them twice in qualifying, and we lost one.”

Highlighting the significance of securing a victory in the upcoming match, Chukwueze remarked, “We need to win the last game to top the group and ensure we qualify for the next round.”

Currently, Nigeria sits in the second position in Group A with four points, trailing leaders Equatorial Guinea only on goal difference. Cote d’Ivoire occupies the third position with three points, while Guinea-Bissau has yet to earn a point in the tournament
