Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially requested approval from the Nigerian Government to supply the domestic market with diesel and various petroleum products, as disclosed in a statement over the weekend.
The anticipated approval is expected to come from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the regulatory body overseeing midstream and downstream petroleum operations in Nigeria.
In the statement, the company confirmed the initiation of diesel and aviation fuel production, with plans to bring these products to the market within the current month pending regulatory approvals.
“We have started the production of diesel and aviation fuel, and the products will be in the market within this month once we receive regulatory approvals,” the statement read.
The Dangote refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, commenced production in the early hours of Friday, as reported by SPRINGNEWS.
