The Development Center Coordinator for Ebonyi, Destiny Uchenna Nwodom, has affirmed his commitment to aligning with Gov. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s ‘People’s Charter of Needs,’ prioritizing security, human development, and infrastructural development within the development center.
Destiny made this known after his official swearing-in ceremony by Gov. Nwifuru at the new government house in Abakaliki on Monday, January 15, 2023.
Expressing his gratitude, Destiny extended appreciation to Governor Nwifuru, attributing his appointment to the Governor’s visionary leadership. Nwodom also acknowledged the recent legal victory at the Supreme Court, emphasizing the Governor’s impact on the state.
“We are set for a complete paradigm shift, focusing on three key areas: security, human development, and infrastructural development. These align with the ‘People’s Charter of Needs’ outlined by our Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. We will implement these policies at the local level within my development center to fulfill our commitment,” he affirmed.
Destiny pledged to diligently execute the policies and Charter of Needs locally, urging patience from those not appointed and stating that divine appointments will come to those deserving. He called for unity to elevate Ebonyi Development Center to greater heights.
During the ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government, Barr. Chinedu Augustine Uburu, commended Governor Nwifuru for appointing coordinators across the State. He advised the new Coordinator to lead by example, echoing the inclusive and non-discriminatory approach of Governor Nwifuru.
“As we celebrate this appointment, I believe life after politics should be a priority for every politician. I encourage the new Coordinator to uphold the Governor’s legacy,” remarked Uburu.
He further advice the youths especially those in politics, stressing that politics should not be a do-or-die affair.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Joseph Nkwede, congratulated the coordinator, noting that his background in political science positions him well among his peers. “We thank God for giving him knowledge; now, he will apply all that he learned in school. May God grant him the knowledge and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the development center and work collaboratively with the local government chairman,” he stated
The highlights of the event included goodwill messages from past coordinator Hon. Victor Nwobashi, Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Education Prof. Joseph Nwobashi, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Chief Uchenna Igwe, and other dignitaries who graced the occasion.
