The Ebonyi Feedmill Factory Project is set to be completed within a year, according to Dr. Richard Eze, the Director of Anglozortic Nigeria Limited, the construction company handling the project. Speaking during an oversight visit by the Ebonyi State House of Assembly Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Eze assured that the factory would meet the highest standards and job specifications.
The Committee, led by its Chairman, Hon. Onyebuchi Ogbadu, emphasized the need for government engineers to supervise the project to ensure its success. Hon. Ogbadu applauded the state governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for initiating the project, describing it as a transformative step for poultry farming and a boost to internally generated revenue in Ebonyi.
During the visit, the Committee also inspected the Nkaliki Hatchery Farm, which houses 8,500 layers and 10,500 broilers. Hon. Ogbadu commended the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources for revitalizing the hatchery, noting significant improvements compared to previous operations.
Other committee members, including Hon. Arinze Lucas Chukwu, Hon. Mrs. Chinyere Nwogbaga, Hon. Steve Orji Igwe, and Hon. Mrs. Esther Agwu, praised Governor Nwifuru for his commitment to agricultural development through projects like the feedmill and hatchery.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Fidilis Nwankwo, highlighted the farm’s progress and assured that the committee’s observations would be implemented to improve operations further.
The feedmill factory and hatchery projects are part of the governor’s broader vision to reposition agriculture as a key driver of productivity and economic growth in Ebonyi State.
