Ebonyi First Lady Graces Scrap Dealers Chairman’s Child’s Dedication with Scholarship

The wife of the Executive Governor of the Ebonyi State, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Maudline Nwifuru has bestowed a prestigious scholarship on her namesake, Uzoamaka Success Nwigwe, the firstborn child of Chief Ejike Nwigwe the Chairman, Ebonyi Scrap Dealers Association.

Mrs. Nwifuru made this announcement on Sunday during the child dedication of her namesake, baby Uzoamaka at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, Onuebonyi in Abakaliki.

Expressing her appreciation for the honor bestowed upon her, the First Lady stated, “I appreciate Chidinma and her husband for naming their baby after me. This child will take after me in goodwill, and where I’m lacking, she won’t, in Jesus’ name. she will excel academically, and I commit to supporting her education from start to finish.”

Chief Ejike , visibly moved by the generous gesture, thanked the First Lady for her unwavering support. He emphasized that naming his daughter after the First Lady was a reflection of her outstanding love for humanity.

Dedication
The wife of the Chairman, Mrs. Chidinma Ejike, who works for the Ebonyi first lady as security personnel was moved by the generous gesture and shared her sentiments; “My boss has been a great woman to me, more than a boss—like a mother. Naming my daughter after her is an honor, and I advise other women to be supportive wives and prioritize their children’s well-being.”


The ceremony, which coincided with the first Sunday of Advent, featured Reverend Michael Chukwuemeka Okeke highlighting the significance of the season and urging vigilance for the imminent return of Christ. The event also included touching remarks from Mrs. Maryrose Nwokporo on the cultural significance of naming ceremonies in Izzi land.
The chairman of the occasion, High Chief Chidi Ogbonna, praised the Ejike family’s gesture and commended the positive impact of the First Lady in the state.
The State Secretary and Public Relations Officer of the Ebonyi Scrap Dealers Association expressed gratitude for the First Lady’s intervention, attributing the association’s revival to her support.

Child dedication
President Nwakwegu Joseph Friday of Future Star Club and Jacinta Omoha of Mountain Family lauded the Ejike family’s philanthropic contributions, encouraging them to persist in their benevolent works.

The occasion drew joyous reactions from various attendees, including police officer Sunday A. Mazadu and Engr. Stanley Nwogha, who praised Chief Ejike’s character and acknowledged the positive influence of the First Lady.
