Amokwe Village, Umuhali Community in Ishielu Local Government Area stood still as her illustrious son and elder statesman Late Elder Hyacinth Eze was laid to rest in his country home.
The late patriarch , who was the father of the Honourable Member Representing Ishielu North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on Security , Boarder Peace and Conflict Resolution Hon Chief Henry Sunday Eze died on the 9th day of April 2023 Easter Sunday. at the age of 87.
In his condolence Message, the Goverrnor of Ebonyi State, Gov Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru described the deceased as a peacemaker and a great man of honour who contributed immensely to the development of his immediate community and the State and equally a man who instilled good moral virtue into his off springs.
The Governor represented by the Speaker of Ebonyi House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, said the solace in Elder Hyacinth Eze’s death was the realization that he lived a Worthy life and urged every living soul to strive to bequeath a lasting legacy that will stand the test of time.
Also, the Executive Governor of Enugu State His Excellency Bar Peter Mba represented by Prof Sam Ugwu the Hon Commissioner for Environment and Climate change said though the demise of Elder Hyacinth Eze was most painful, he urged the family not to loose focus but to build on the legacies the legend left behind adding that Elder Hyacinth Eze was a devout Christian , Community Leader and a great disciplinarian who will be remembered for his industry and generosity.
In a remark, the Executive Chairman Ishielu Local Government Area Hon John Onwe noted that Elder Hyacinth Eze was an exceptional Community leader, compassionate and hard-working who positively served and imparted to his Community and those around him the spirit of patriotism, diligence and God fearing.
In his condolences messages the Senator Representing Ebonyi Central Zone Sen Engr Ken Eze Chairman Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation and Senator Representing Ebonyi North Zone Sen, Onyemaechi Peter Nwebonyi and Deputy Whip of the Senate described late Elder Hyacinth Eze as a man of many parts, a devout Christian, hard-working man, kind hearted man and peace maker adding that the Community lost a wise man and a counselor.
The funeral mass was presided over by Rev Fr Ikenna Agu of St Charles Parish Nigercem while the sermon was said by Rev Fr Nwofoke in which he urged Christian’s to live a good life while on earth as it remains the only basis for judgement on the last day.
In a tribute, the first son of the deceased, Hon Chief Henry Sunday Eze, the member representing Ishielu North Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly Said that his father was a staff of Nigerian Railway Corporation and Nigeria Cement Company limited.
He said that his father was a hard-working man, peacemaker, devout Christian who ensured the upbringing of children in an upright and discipline way.
The ceremony was well attended by House of Assembly Members, State Executive Members,, Local Government Chairmen, IgboEsa General Assembly, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to State Governor, Development Centers Cordinators designate, Captains of Industries, Clergymen and other distinguished personalities in the Society,
