Election Victory: Ebonyi Lawmaker, Ukpia Pledges Enhanced Development for Constituents

The Member representing Ohaozara West Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on Markets Development and Parks Hon Onu Ukpia has assured his determination to work harder to satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Ohaozara West Constituency.

He gave the assurance during his Election Victory Thanksgiving ceremony held at St Andrews’ Presbyterian Church Onuogboroji Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area

Hon Onu Ukpia who said his election was an act of God which was fulfilled through the Constituents promised to attract developmental projects to the area.

He stated that his empowerment scheme for his Constituents in fourteen villages where motorcycles, grading machines and cassava processing machines among others were shared in Nine villages remaining five villages which will be attended to by the end of this month January 2024.

The State lawmaker while thanking the people of Ohaozara West Constituency for their support during the March 2023 General Election maintained that the only thing he has is to thank God for His Benevolence and equally appreciate those who joined him in the thanksgiving ceremony.

He disclosed that since the State Governor Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru came on board, he has worked assiduously to actualize People’s Needs through his People’s Charter of Needs Mantra.

Hon Onu Ukpia while commending legislative Excellence of 7th Assembly said the members of the Present State House of Assembly are fusion of experienced and brilliant lawmakers with an excellent Speaker Rt Hon Moses Ije Odunwa who came in to form a formidable team that helps to continue the total transformation of Ebonyi State.

Speaking further on his representation at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon Onu Ukpia said he has taken time to study the needs and requirements of his Constituency and within his reach he will do everything possible to ensure that within his tenure those needs will be tackled.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion Osuji Idike Umahi described Hon Onu Ukpia as a true child of God who remembers God for his Blessings.

He said that Hon Ukpia is a performing legislator urging the Constituents to always support him and not to expect money from him, rather to expect him attracting beneficial projects to the area which he has started doing.

Also, the State Vice Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers Chief Martin’s Onu implored Hon Onu Ukpia to continue on the good note in which he started and do not relent from his hard work prayed God to always guide him.

In their separate speeches, Chief Alexander Ene, Chief Uzoroma Ezechukwu and the park Manager Uburu Chief Onu Aba Ogu said that the humility and openess of the lawmaker stood him out in the House and therefore implored him to be focused as to whom much is given, much more is expected and appreciated Hon Ukpia for deciding to be on the Lord’s side

Earlier in a sermon, Pastor.of St Andrews Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Onuogboroji Uburu Rt Rev Agwu Emmanuel urged the people to always recognize God whenever they are blessed and urged Hon Onu Ukpia to continue with the way he had started.
