Ikwo people based in Anambra state under the aegis of Ikwo Noyo Welfare Association, today, paid a courtesy visit to the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South federal constituency at the National Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Rt Hon Comrade Chinedu Ogah, OON at his Abakaliki residence.
Speaking, the leader of the group, Comrade Agbom Moses said the visit was to pledge their unalloyed support to the legislator whom he described as a man of the people. He however, commended his leadership ingenuity, effective representation and good deeds for the good of Ikwo/Ezza- South constituency and even across the state.
“We are here as Ikwo representatives based in Anambra State. We came to identify with you officially and to know exactly how we would partner as one people.
“We have continuously listened to your reverberative voice at the floor of the house in National Assembly and all we can say is that we are very much proud of you and your leadership strides in the constituency”.
Others who spoke noted that the association has undiluted support to the leadership of the lawmaker and willing to give him both moral and human support whenever their service is needed.
Reacting, the federal lawmaker, Rt Hon Comrade Ogah thanked them for always supporting him as well as for representing Ikwo people based in Anambra State. He urged the association to be more united and carry each other along for progress and development of Ikwo as a whole, adding that he would empower some of their members.
“I want to assure you people that once you are organized, we can now come in and set program on how to empower some of the people in your midst.
“Leadership is no man’s business, hence, we should join hands and support the administration of our workaholic governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and other leaders”.
The legislator further urged them to be patriotic citizens and shun social vices or anything that would bring to the mud the image and reputation of Ikwo people and Ebonyi State at large.
