The chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon.Obinna Onwe has called on security outfit in the State to deploy more security agents at the highway borders between Nkalagu community of Ishielu LGA, Ebonyi State and Idodo in Nkanu East of Enugu State.
The Chairman expressed sadness following the increasing robbery attacks along the highway especially within the border of the two boundary communities Nkalagu in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Idodo in Nkanu East council Area of Enugu state.
Recall that they have been series of alleged robbery, killings and kidnapping of unsuspecting motorists and their passengers along the area.
Hon Onwe noted that security of lives and property in the council area remains his priority in collaboration with the Nigeria Police force and other security agents as well as local vigilantees, he revealed bitterly that the yet to be identified unknown gunmen carry out such attack despite the closeness of police and military check points with in the arena.
The council boss stressed that the superiority of armed bandits operating in the area is beyond what Local Government nor immediate communities could handle properly called for immediate deployment of ever ready security pesonels in the area to end the pesistance infliction of injuries and pains to many families whom had lost their loved ones and bread winners to the criminal gang who had continued to terrorize the areas at will .
Hon Obinna however commended the highly improved security in the State under Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru and other numerous human capacity building programs, further urged the Enugu state government to collaborate with Ebonyi state government to introduce security alternative in addition to federal government intervention to end the evil imagination of criminals.
Hon.Onwe who testified speedy human and infrastructural development in the area since his emergence especially restoration of peace in the communal disputes affected area and restoring total love and common understanding for the interest of peace in the area between the affected communities noted that Governor Francis Nwifuru, administrative principle “the people’s charter of needs”is greatly in manifestation in the area for the good of the people.
He urged youths in the area and beyond to always seek alternative to livelihood through skill acquisition and avoid desire to get rich quick to ruin their future.
