Bayer Leverkusen’s winger, Nathan Tella, has expressed how playing for the Super Eagles has significantly boosted his confidence. The 24-year-old, born in England to Nigerian parents, recently made his debut for the Super Eagles during a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Warriors of Zimbabwe, where he started the game but was replaced at half-time by Victor Boniface.
Despite the international break, Tella is now firmly focused on club football as Bayer Leverkusen gears up to face Swedish club Hacken in a UEFA Europa League clash on Thursday night.
Speaking ahead of the encounter at the Nya Ullevi in Goteborg, Tella shared his positive outlook, stating, “The last few weeks have given me a lot of confidence. As a player, you always want to play and to play in the big games. My international debut also did me good. Now I’m really looking forward to the match.
