Okeaku: NBA Chair Ede Champions Unity

The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abakaliki branch,Barrister Ede Samuel Ede, has extended his heartfelt felicitations to the governor  of Ebonyi, Rt. Hon.Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Ebonyians, the descendants of Ezekuna, and the NBA Abakaliki chapter on the historic occasion of the Okeaku festival.

In a statement made available to the press, Barrister Ede emphasized the symbolic significance of the celebration, stating, “Okeaku offers a season of new chapter of life, love, reconciliation, and unity of purpose.”

He urged attendees and indigenes to leverage this period to “chart forward a better socio-cultural and socio-political framework in line with our common realities.”

The NBA Chairman further highlighted the positive impact of Governor Nwifuru’s “People’s Charter of Needs” on the Ebonyi Central Senatorial District and the Ezza Ezekuna people.

“This current edition indeed, invokes the lofty impacts of His Excellency’s people Charter of Needs on Ebonyi Central Senatorial District as a whole and the Ezza Ezekuna people in particular,” Ede noted.

As the Okeaku festival unfolds, Barrister Ede called for a collective “reawakening of our unity of purpose” among both indigenes and participants.
