The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South East Zone has officially announced the appointment of Hon. Moses Nweze, popularly known as Mbaco, as its new Youth Leader. The appointment was confirmed in a press release issued from the Office of the National Vice Chairman of the party on Wednesday, July 31, 2025.
According to the statement signed by Hon. Prince Ify Chijioke, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the National Vice Chairman, Hon. Nweze’s nomination followed wide consultations with critical stakeholders, ward executives, and loyal party members from Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and across the South East region.
Hon. Nweze brings with him a wealth of experience, having served as Coordinator of Onicha Development Centre and Technical Assistant during the administration of former Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi. He is also the current Head of Internal Security for the “Anyi Ga Emeya” Movement.
Described as a man of “admirable character, commitment, and capacity,” his elevation to the zonal youth leadership role has been praised as both “timely and deserving.” The PDP leadership noted that Nweze possesses the vision, discipline, and energy required to mobilize and inspire the youth wing of the party across the zone.
In his remarks, the National Vice Chairman of PDP South East Zone, Hon. Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu, assured the new youth leader of the full support of the zonal leadership and encouraged all youth stakeholders within the party to rally behind him.
“With his leadership, the voices of PDP youths in the South East will not only be heard but meaningfully engaged,” the statement reads. “We believe in his ability to lead from the front and deliver results that will further strengthen the PDP’s base among the youth population.”
The PDP South East Zone congratulates Hon. Moses Nweze and wishes him success in his new role.
