Peter Obi Hints at 2027 Presidential Run Amidst Supreme Court Controversy

In a recent world press conference held in Abuja, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), commended Nigerian youth for their unwavering support during the 2023 presidential election. However, his speech was not devoid of criticism, particularly aimed at the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Bola Tinubu’s election, which he argued had shattered the nation’s trust in the judiciary.

Obi expressed his disappointment, stating that the Supreme Court’s judgment marked the conclusion of his quest for justice regarding the 2023 presidential election. He didn’t mince words in addressing the audience, saying, “The energy of Nigerian youths has been amazing, and I want to assure them that this is not the end of our journey but the beginning. We shall endure and persist until we reach our destination, as a united Nigeria is our ultimate goal.”

This statement by Peter Obi hints at his potential run for the presidency in the 2027 elections, underscoring the need for unity and a commitment to electoral justice in Nigeria’s political landscape.
