The Federal Government has announced its commitment to enhance food production in the country through mechanization, according to Sen. Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security. Sen. Kyari shared this information with the media at the conclusion of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme and Agro Pocket (NAGS-AP) meeting held in Abuja on Saturday.

The meeting served as a prelude to the upcoming implementation of the second phase of the 2023-2024 dry season farming initiative in Nigeria. Sen. Kyari emphasized the pivotal role of mechanized farming in supporting the country’s agricultural sector and boosting food production.

During the discussions, Sen. Kyari mentioned that President Bola Tinubu has pledged full support for the mechanization efforts. “President Bola Tinubu said he is going to give us all the support for mechanisation, and we will soon roll out the mechanisation programme,” stated the minister, highlighting the government’s dedication to advancing agricultural practices in Nigeria
