In the midst of the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, the State House of Assembly has successfully rescreened and cleared all nine commissioners who previously resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet. This development follows their voluntary resignation last November, a move triggered by the escalating tensions between Fubara and his predecessor, former Governor Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Governor Fubara recently resubmitted the names of the nine nominees to the State House of Assembly for reconsideration. During the plenary session held on Wednesday, the former commissioners were invited to ‘take a bow and leave’ the chamber, signifying the successful completion of the clearance process.
