The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Barr. Ikeuwa Omebe, has pledged to partner with journalists in promoting Governor Francis Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs administration across all sectors of the state.
Barr. Omebe made this known while receiving a delegation of journalists who paid him a familiarization visit in his office at the Ministry of Information and Orientation, Abakaliki.
The Commissioner emphasized the pivotal role of the media as a veritable tool for informing, educating, and shaping public perception about government activities. He commended the journalists for their consistent efforts in projecting the image of the state government since the inception of the present administration.
Describing the visit as timely and encouraging, Omebe assured that his ministry would henceforth maintain a cordial working relationship with the media to ensure effective information dissemination.
“I want to assure you that we will continue to work together as partners in progress,” the Commissioner stated. “This seat I am occupying now requires collective effort. It is a ministry where no one can succeed working alone. Through collaboration, we can surmount every challenge.”
He further reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the welfare of journalists in the state and ensuring they are comfortable during official assignments and media engagements.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Government House Correspondent of the Times Newspaper, Mr. Celestine Okeh, alongside other journalists including Voice Newspaper Correspondent, Chinwe Imo Eze; Glorious FM Correspondent, Ndubuisi Nwogha; and Direct TV Reporter, Chinedu Ngwuta, lauded the Commissioner for his warm reception and congratulated him on his redeployment to the Ministry of Information and Orientation.
They equally expressed appreciation to Governor Francis Nwifuru for finding Omebe worthy of the appointment and pledged their unwavering support to help him achieve the ministry’s goals.
They, however, appealed for inclusiveness in government activities and official functions, urging the Commissioner to always carry members along to enable them to continue projecting the image of the state government effectively.
