A socio-cultural organisation in Ebonyi State, the Ezza Ezekuna Youth Assembly has said the People’s Democratic Party governorship candidate in the Saturday, February 6, 2027 polls, Chief Ifeanyi Odii, remains its most preferred choice.
The youth organisation at a rally, on Sunday, endorsed Odii’s candidacy saying as a business administrator, he understands the needs of Ebonyi residents and possesses the mentality to turn the fortunes of the state around.
Addressing residents at the rally, the National President of the group, Comrade Sunday Orogwu, said consequent upon on equit, the state currently needs a selfless leader with the capacity to harmonise, restructure, rebuild, and reposition its image among the comity of states .
He said, ” We have found such a leader in Dr Ifeanyi Odii. He is someone who has the remedy for the existential problem of Ebonyi State. He’s someone who can lay solid foundation for Ebonyians both now and for generations unborn. He’s someone who has satisfied the thirst of Ebonyians. He’s a detribalised leader is someone who is detribalised. He has the capacity to revamp the economy of the state and work towards ensuring that Ebonyi people co-exist as brothers.
“This endorsement is done in the spirit of “no retreat, no surrender” because, Odii is capable of uniting Ebonyians ”for greater and accelerated development.”
“Despite the central place the Ezza people occupy in the ancestral legacies of Ebonyi State, successive governments have always used the people as an article of political trade without consequential and verifiable benefit,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, the People’s Democratic Party Youth Leader in the state, Engr Francis, lauded the youth group for standing up for progress, adding the party’s standard bearer has the capacity of recreating an Ebonyi State where everybody irrespective of age, background and status would succeed.
He said, “My dear brothers and sisters of the Ezza Ezekuna Youth Assembly, I bring you warm greetings from the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Wing in Ebonyi State.
“Today is not just about an endorsement; it is about making a statement that the youths of Ezza Ezekuna are ready to participate actively in shaping the future of our dear state. I commend you for coming together in unity and for demonstrating your commitment to democratic participation.
“Our governorship candidate, High Chief Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has consistently expressed his desire to build an Ebonyi State where every young person has the opportunity to succeed through job creation, enterprise, quality education, agriculture, and infrastructure. His vision is one that calls for the energy, creativity, and support of our youths.
“As the State Youth Leader of the PDP, I encourage every young person here to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and focused.
