Presenting the fund at Nsugbe Street, Abakaliki, Ada Olaedo said the donation was in fulfilment of the campaign promise she made during the last general election, when she canvassed for votes for the APC, and also as her personal contribution to support her principal’s second tenure bid.
“Our Governor has done well and we have to overwhelmingly support him to win next year’s governorship election. We, at the Urban are 100% behind him. He is a detribalized leader with golden heart.
“His empowerment programmes and Educational policies are second to none in South East geopolitical zone of the Country. Anybody who is trying to contest with him in the 2027 general election is wasting his time and resources. The Onwa of Ebonyi state will win a landslide victory in the 13 Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
“We are here today because he is our sole candidate for 2027 Governorship election. We have endorsed him and we will continue to endorse him until he is declared the winner of the Governorship election come 2027.” She explained.
She noted that Governor Nwifuru found her worthy despite faults discovered in the urban wards, trusted her without doubt and appointed her as Special Assistant, hence the need for her to show capacity and solidarity.
Mrs. Ebere Ania also used the event to sensitize the people of the Ward on the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that without PVC, they cannot vote.
“We need to make sure that we get our PVC ahead of the election. This is one of the ways to enthrone our Governor without any form of contradiction in next year’s general election.” She stressed.
Mrs. Ania further called on the people to vote overwhelmingly for Governor Francis Nwifuru and all APC candidates in next year’s general election, in order to attract more dividends of democracy to their respective localities
On her part, the Women Leader of New Layout Ward, Mrs. Uju Agbodike described Ada Olaedo as a capacity woman leader to be reckoned with.
According to Mrs. Agbodike, Mrs. Ebere Ania is the only woman appointee who remembers the plight of womanhood, noting that the Governor did a wonderful thing in her life and she is reciprocating it by empowering women and men in her ward – a gesture she said should be emulated across the nine urban wards.
Others also lauded Governor Nwifuru’s performance, declaring that his good works are numerous, visible and stressed the need for continuity.
