2027: My Political Decisions Will Be Guided By National Interest — Ezeh

Ebonyi 2027: Consultations ongoing, but national interest will guide my decisions — Ezeh

A former National Assembly candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, has said consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections are ongoing, but stressed that any political decision he takes will be guided strictly by national interest and not personal ambition.

Ezeh made the remark while speaking with journalists in Abuja amid rising political realignments and growing speculation about his next political move within the Ebonyi State political landscape.

He said he has continued to engage stakeholders across various political blocs, noting that the discussions are part of a broader democratic process aimed at assessing the expectations of supporters and the political direction of the moment.

According to him, while consultations remain active, he is more concerned about leadership choices that would advance governance, strengthen institutions, and improve the welfare of citizens.

“I am still studying the political terrain. My decisions are guided by principle and national interest, not ambition,” he said.

The Labour Party stalwart also reaffirmed his commitment to the ideology of the party, which he said is rooted in equal opportunity, social justice, integrity, and competence in leadership recruitment.

Ezeh maintained that his political engagements have consistently reflected his belief in issue-based politics rather than personal or sectional considerations.

He further noted that Nigeria’s political future requires leaders who are focused on delivering democratic dividends rather than those driven by narrow interests, adding that ongoing consultations should not be misconstrued as a declaration of intent.

Meanwhile, political observers have said Ezeh’s remarks come at a time of intensified positioning within Ebonyi State ahead of 2027, as various actors across party lines begin early mobilization and alliance-building.
