Members of Isuikwuato Local government area of Abia State resident in Ebonyi state under the umbrella of Isuikwuato Development Union yesterday re-elected Barr.
Barr. Uchechukwu Egwim to pilot the affairs of the union for the next four years.
The election which took place on Sunday came following the expiration of Barr. Egwim’s first led executive of IDU, Abakaliki Branch last month.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday and was made available to journalists in Abakaliki the Ebonyi state capital by the publicity Secretary of the union, Mr. Nabob Ogbonna who also served as the secretary of the electoral committee that conducted the election which was adjoined to be the most free and fair elections of the union.
According to him, “Barr. Uchechukwu Egwim defeated his closest, Hon. Felix Nduka, now Vice Chairman with higher scores to return to the seat.
Also, Comrade Obiefuna Onuoha emerged the secretary while Mr Austin Madubuko who secured the second higher votes is to serve as Asst. (Secretary)
Others elected were: Mr. Amachi Anaugwu and Mr. Michael Onyesom who won the Financial Secretary and Treasury positions respectively.
Also Mr. Nabob Ogbonna was elected unopposed to serve as Publicity Secretary, while Mr. Chidiebere Igweibe won the welfare position.
The Provost position went to Mr. Okechukwu Uwalaka and Emeka Igbokwe.
In line with the constitution of the Union as amended, the present Chairman is expected to appoint the patrons which is subject to the approval of the members in their next meeting.
The newly elected Isuikwuato Development Union Abakaliki Branch led by Barr. Igwim were immediately sworn in by Chief Philip Egwu who served as Chairman of the electoral committee.
