Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians not to lose hope despite the severe economic challenges currently confronting the country.

In his Easter message shared on X on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Obi urged citizens to remain steadfast and resilient in the face of rising economic hardship, stressing that sacrifice, unity, and responsible leadership remain critical to building a better Nigeria.

“Even amid difficult times, we encourage you to remain steadfast in hope,” Obi wrote.

He acknowledged the enormous burden many families are presently carrying as a result of the harsh economic realities, describing the current challenges as temporary trials that can eventually give way to renewal if Nigerians remain committed to the common good.

The former presidential candidate noted that the Easter season serves as a reminder that sacrifice often precedes restoration, adding that light always follows darkness.

According to him, the nation can still achieve meaningful progress through accountability, compassion, and good governance.

Obi further expressed confidence that, through God’s grace and the determination of the people, Nigeria would overcome its present difficulties and move toward a brighter and more prosperous future.

The message comes at a time when many Nigerians continue to grapple with rising living costs, inflation, and other economic pressures under the current administration.
