The Special Assistant, SA on Media to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state, Ebere Ania has described the commitment and forthrightness of the wife of the Governor, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru as extraordinary.
She added that with Her Excellency’s Pet Project, Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation (BERWO), the lives of mothers, children, less privileged, the elderly and youths have been touched positively and given a sense of belonging in the present administration.
Briefing newsmen in her office, the SA on Media who extolled the humanitarian and amiable virtues of Mrs. Nwifuru, further stressed that through Her Excellency’s medical interventions, programmes, policies and projects, the lives of Ebonyi women have been repositioned for growth, capacity development and all-round advancement.
She explained that the Governor’s wife has been able to reduce to its bearest minimum, incidences of death involving pregnant women across the State.
“In Ebonyi state, the Governor’s wife has given a pride of place to all women, irrespective of party affiliation and Local Government of origin. Women are now excited about the person of Her Excellency, because of her goodly and motherly disposition towards them.
“In fact, Her Excellency has made it a point of duty to ensure that pregnant women are properly and adequately taken care of in all medical facilities across the State. There’s even a package that is usually given to mothers in various hospitals in the State.
“Her office has sponsored the free medical treatment and operation of so many women with different illnesses. She is a mother indeed and Ebonyi people are proud to have her as the mother of the state.” He stressed.
She said the unfortunate stigma associated with the girl child in the State, as it concerns Female Genital Mutilation and Cutting, FGMC, has been drastically dealt with, without any form of compromise.
“She doesn’t joke with the well-being of Ebonyi women. She doesn’t tolerate brutality of the womenfok. She wants our women to be treated with due respect and attention they deserve. She is really an advocate of peace and stability in every family represented in Ebonyi state.
“Her accomplishments are reverberating across the length and breadth of the South East geopolitical zone of the Country as the most dutiful, caring and people -oriented woman figure of our time. She is the pride of womanhood in Ebonyi state and we are proud of her.
“Women at the rural level are also proud of her. She is ready to protect the rights and God-given disposition of every woman. She has within the period under review built lots of houses for widows across the 13 Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.”
According to her, we have never had it so good. She is an epitome of a virtuous wife and hallmark of true leadership.
She called on women across the State to support the programmes and policies of the present administration adding that Governor Nwifuru is determined to see to the upliftment and general well-being of every woman.
Ania, who has accomplishment so much within the media circle, appreciated the Governor’s wife for her immense contributions towards the overal prosperity of Ebonyi women in the State.
