Nigerian music superstar, Davido, has gone varial on fresh political debate after launching a strong attack on Gboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, over alleged moves linked to the upcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

In a post shared on his X account on Tuesday, the singer described Oyetola as “the most desperate politician in the world,” accusing him of pursuing a political agenda he claimed would ultimately fail.

“The most desperate politician in the world is @GboyegaOyetola, very embarrassing. Oyetola, your plan no go work,” Davido wrote.

Although there was no evidence  details of the alleged political plot, his remarks have intensified conversations around the growing political rivalry ahead of the election in Osun State, where tensions are already building between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

The controversy comes shortly after Davido publicly announced a temporary break from his music career to focus on grassroots mobilization for the re-election bid of his uncle and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke.

As political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2026 polls, the exchange adds another layer of drama to an already heated pre-election atmosphere in Osun State.
