The Chairman of the Accord Party in Ebonyi State, Hon. Ndubuisi Paschal Ani, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election for a second term, describing the victory as a major milestone for the party.

Adeleke, who contested the August 15, 2026 governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after securing 511,067 votes.

His closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, polled 444,815 votes, giving Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes. The Accord candidate also won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.

The election was keenly contested, with 15 political parties participating in the race. INEC recorded 1,010,684 accredited voters and 985,079 valid votes across the state.

Reacting to the outcome,  the Ebonyi State Accord chairman in a congratulatory message made available to the press on Sunday said Adeleke’s victory demonstrated resilience, political sagacity and a strong connection with the people of Osun State.

He said the re-election was a clear affirmation of the confidence the people had reposed in Adeleke’s leadership and the achievements of his first administration.

Adeleke, who was first elected governor of Osun State in 2022, had moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 election. He subsequently secured the Accord ticket to seek a second term.

The statement reads ‘this victory is not only a celebration for you and the good people of Osun State, but also a major milestone for our great Accord.

“Your re-election has further demonstrated the growing acceptance of Accord and the confidence Nigerians continue to repose in our party as a platform for progressive and people-oriented leadership.

“I commend you for your resilience, commitment and dedication to the people of Osun State throughout your first term. Your renewed mandate provides another opportunity to consolidate your achievements and deliver even greater development to the people.

“I also congratulate the national leadership of our great party, led by our National Chairman, Chief Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, for its strategic leadership and efforts towards strengthening the Accord across the country.

“The Osun victory is indeed a victory for the entire Accord family. It is a demonstration that with visionary leadership, unity, commitment and grassroots engagement, our party can continue to achieve remarkable electoral successes.

“On behalf of the Accord, Ebonyi State Chapter, I celebrate this historic victory with Governor Ademola Adeleke, the people of Osun State and the entire Accord family,” he said.
