Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reassured residents of Takum Local Government Area of his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening border security through close collaboration with neighbouring states.
The governor gave the assurance over the weekend while attending a get-together programme organised by elder statesman, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (retd), for staff working across his various establishments in the state.
Speaking at the event, Kefas expressed delight over the prevailing peace in Takum, noting that normalcy has returned to the area after a period of unrest and security challenges.
According to the governor, “life and love have returned,” a development he attributed to the sustained efforts of his administration and the support of local communities.
He emphasised that his government would continue to prioritise the protection of lives and property, particularly in border communities, by working closely with relevant authorities in neighbouring states to curb insecurity and sustain the current peace.
Kefas also paid glowing tribute to General Danjuma, commending his longstanding contributions to the development of Taraba State and his remarkable impact on the nation at large.
The renewed pledge comes as part of ongoing efforts by the state government to reinforce security measures and ensure lasting peace across Takum and other vulnerable border communities.
