In a significant move, the Kwara State government has given its approval for the full implementation of the 100% Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for nurses within the state. This decision is aimed at enhancing the remuneration packages for nurses and addressing challenges related to brain drain in the healthcare sector.
Furthermore, as part of efforts to bolster the quality and standard of nursing care, the state government has successfully recruited 63 additional nurses. This strategic recruitment initiative is intended to fill the void created by the brain drain phenomenon, aligning with global best practices in healthcare.
Aminu Shehu, the Chairman, and Markus Luka, the Secretary of the Kwara State Council of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, jointly conveyed this positive development in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to journalists.”
