EBHA Committee on LG Stress on Standard Projects in Council Areas

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy and EBSIIEC Matters has reiterated the needs for all the ( 13) thirteen local government Chairmen to step down the quality works of the State Goverrnor His Excellency RT Hon Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru at thier council areas.

The Committee led by it’s Chairman Hon Goodluck Obinna Mbam stated this on its oversight function visit to Ivo Local Government Area maintained that the Committee should not be mistaken for witch hunting , rather it was meant for jobs to be done according to it’s specifications.

The Committee Chairman while reacting to the projects executed by the Council Chairman Hon Chief Emmanuel Ogbonna Aja expressed satisfaction with the developmental strides of the chairman and urged him not to relent in giving democracy dividends to the people of the area.

Speaking also the House Leader Hon Kingsley Ikoro, Hon Abiri Godwin Abiri, Hon Chinyere Nwogbaga, Hon Victor Nwoke , Hon Alloysius Nwodo Hon and Hon Joseph Ununu said the visit was in line with the constitutional provision and implored the Council Chairman to acquint the Committee all the contracts and jobs been handled and how they were been handled.

They expressed satisfaction on the activities of the council Chairman and urged him to ensure timely distribution of farm input to Farmers and the importance of practical Agriculture rural areas.

Speaking to the Committee , the Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area Hon Chief Aja Emmanuel Ogbonna enumeratd projects embarked upon by the council to include purchase of 24 Seina buses and 11 cars for councillors. Construction of Concrete road from Ugwu Iyialualu to Ekeishiagu, Installation of over 1,200 Solar Streetlights, construction of culverts and bridges, ongoing Construction of Akaeze Ultra Modern Market, Installation of CCTV Cameras in all Strategic Security Point, Extension of Ishiagu water Project, Construction of Isiaka High Court and Magistrate Court empowerment programme among others.

Hon Aja maintained that apart from embarking on projects, the council equally maintained a harmonious working relationship with it’s legislators,staff and stakeholders from the area so as to ensure the even spread of democracy dividends to the entire people.

In a vote of thanks, the leader of Ivo legislative Council Hon Chukwu Joseph Obasi legislative Council appreciated the Committee visit which he said will ginger them to perform creditabily.

On the visit were other members of the Committee such as Hon Prince Nkemka Okoro Onumah, Hon Ifeanyi Nwakpu, Hon Mrs Esther Agwu, Hon Stephen Orji Igwe
