The Member of the House of Representatives for Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah OON, has commended the Ebonyi state Governor, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Nwifuru for his peaceful leadership in the State.
Lawmaker Ogah made this commendation on Saturday, April 27, 2024, during the just concluded Aji Ereke Cultural Carnival at Ndiofoke Amagu in Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi State.
Maintaining that the festival’s essence was to foster unity and promote peace for the betterment of the constituency, Ogah expressed his joy and satisfaction in offering his support and contributions towards the success of this year’s Aji Ereke Cultural Carnival.
He further disclosed that the cultural carnival extended across eight days, with today’s event serving as the grand finale, where communities and friends gathered at a designated playground to mark the end of the celebration as a carnival.
“We are celebrating this carnival because we have a performing governor who has brought peace for us,” Ogah stated.
“For about fifteen years, there has been a presence of conflict in different communities and with our neighboring village, Cross River State.”
“However, since our dear governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, emerged as the governor of Ebonyi State, we have not experienced conflict or misunderstanding with any community again.”
“He has done us well by accommodating our sons through their appointments, including four commissioners and others.”
“We are celebrating this carnival because apart from Izzi, it is only in Amagu that the governor had the highest vote in the last general election.”
Ogah urged the general public to support the government of His Excellency, Chief Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, and the APC-led administration. He reiterated his commitment to advocating for his constituents and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.
In response, the governor of Ebonyi state commended Chief Ogah for his unwavering effort in representing his people and ensuring their culture and tradition are showcased to the world.
The climax of the event included displays of unique rituals, music, masquerade dances, culinary delights, and other artistic expressions.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including the executive of Ebonyi State represented by the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Princess Patricia Obila, the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, Hon. Barr. Sunday Nwankwo, Senator Ken Eze, Chief Mathias Adum, the Principal Secretary to the Governor of Ebonyi State, representatives from the National Assembly, Chief Okeagu Ogadah, traditional rulers and cabinets, and numerous others.
