The remains of Late Mrs. Christiana Ucha Edigbo, a renowned trader and women leader in Ndiaguazu Umuoghara, Ezza North Local Government Area, have been laid to rest.
Dignitaries, including Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin Nwonu, former member representing Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency, and Chief Lazarus Ogbee, ex-member representing Ikwo/Ezza South, described her as a virtuous woman and devout Christian of the Assemblies of God Church. They praised her contributions to the growth and development of her community.
In his funeral oration, Chief Linus Edigbo, her son, highlighted her exemplary life, attributing her longevity of 120 years to her industrious and intrepid character. He recalled her dedication to family, her role in supporting her husband to attain titles in Ezza land, and her service in various capacities in the Assemblies of God Church.
Two members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Innocent Chikaodili Nomeh (Ezza North West) and Hon. Kelvin Kenechukwu Okeh (Ezza North East), described her as an extraordinary woman whose love and integrity touched countless lives.
Comrade Emeka Nwonu, Executive Secretary of the Ebonyi State Local Government Staff Pension Board, referred to her as a mother to all who found joy in helping others. Business associates of her sons, including Alhaji Mustapha Aliyu, Alhaji Saidu Salihu, and Mr. Louis Nwakpa, also expressed their grief, describing her as lively and compassionate.
Rev. Michael Chidiogo Igwe of Assemblies of God Church Amegu, in his sermon, commended her steadfast faith and fulfillment of a Christian life.
Her burial was marked with cultural dances, merriment, and tributes celebrating her impactful life.
