Availability of improved electricity energy that can meet the demands of industries of different capacities to operate successfully remains the major factor for achieving industrialization in any place including Ebonyi state as industrialization is part of major campaign manifesto of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
Governor Nwifuru while addressing Newsmen recently revealed that a tire manufacturing factory which was among the factory managements he meet with and had a memorandum of understanding during a foreign trip to Tunisia with his official delegation to establish their branch in the state withdrawn from the agreement when they visited Nigeria in Abuja and after their inquiry discovered that the available energy in the state is not enough to operate their industrial machines.
Governor Nwifuru noted that inview of that his administration is making strong move to reverse it by investing hugely in the power sector to make it very attractive and conducive for industrialists and other investors to operate without hitches.
Speaking on the development the Vice Chancellor of ICT University Oferekpe, Professor Ernest Egba described the decision of the governor to seek possible alternative solution to the development.
According to professor Egba availability of high grade voltage that could fully energize industrial machines for full operation is a top priority for the state to ensure that the quest for industrialization is not compromise to enable the citizenry enjoy the benefits that is attached to it.
He called on local and foreign investors to make Ebonyi state their next destination due to the prevailing attractive and friendly investment policy of Governor Francis Nwifuru who is highly committed to eliminate poverty in the area through high level human capacity building programs.
Professor Egba described the establishment of Information Communication Technology’University Oferekpe as a decision taken at the rightful time following increasing quest for a scientific generation where high level digitalization in all sectors of human endeavors prevails
The Vice Chancellor noted that efforts are on top gear for commencement of full academic activities in the school from next year assure government and people of the state in general on the readiness of the Institution to contribute favorably to realize the policy trust of the state governor to industrialize the state and further boost the economy of the area.
