The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ebonyi State, Dr. Kingsley Obinna Agbo, has declared that the party is ready to take over power in the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Agbo made this declaration during a harmonization meeting with party stakeholders and the appointment of 13 new caretaker chairmen from various Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Agbo encouraged party members to unite and spread the message of change to every part of Ebonyi State.

“We are not just another opposition party. We are ready to take over and bring real change to the people. The people are tired, and SDP is the solution. It’s time for something new,” Agbo said.

He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization, which is a key part of the party’s strategy to increase its presence across Ebonyi State and beyond. “We are going to the grassroots. We’ve learned from the past, and now we’re even more determined. Our goal is not just to oppose; we are here to take over and lead the state and the country,” Agbo added.

The appointment of 13 new caretakers was part of the party’s larger plan to connect with local communities and spread the party’s vision at the grassroots level.

Also, the former SDP chairman, Austin Ituma Nweze, also expressed strong support for Agbo’s vision, stating that now is the time for SDP to rise again.

“SDP is back,” Nweze declared. “This time around, we are going to make things happen. With leaders like El-Rufai joining, we’re more motivated than ever to push the party to greater heights.”

Nweze described SDP not just as a political party, but a movement that is determined to win elections and make a real difference. “SDP is no longer just a party; it’s a movement that will win elections. We won’t stop until we get the presidency,” he said.
