The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah, OON, has congratulated the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on the occasion of his second anniversary in office, applauding his administration’s strides in governance and development.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Hon. Ogah praised Governor Nwifuru’s leadership style, noting that it has rekindled the people’s trust in government through practical achievements that cut across education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic empowerment.
“Your Excellency’s achievements are numerous and impactful,” Ogah said. “From the construction of 39 modern secondary schools to the establishment of an ICT University and an Aeronautic Engineering University, your commitment to repositioning the education sector is clear.”
He highlighted the governor’s transformation of the healthcare sector, citing the equipping of general hospitals with modern facilities and the employment of 195 medical personnel as commendable steps toward strengthening healthcare delivery in the state.
Hon. Ogah also commended the governor for tackling long-standing infrastructural challenges in Ebonyi, particularly through the construction of roads, 126 and 140 housing units for Ebonyi workers and displaced war victims, as well as the payment of arrears of gratuities and pensions dating back to 1999 — a gesture he described as a bold step toward financial justice and inclusion.
He further lauded Governor Nwifuru’s focus on economic empowerment and agricultural development. These include empowerment programmes targeted at Ebonyians hawking in major cities, procurement of tractors, revitalization of the Ebonyi poultry project, and the employment of 1,454 people into the state’s civil service.
“I commend your efforts, Your Excellency, and look forward to continued progress in Ebonyi. Truly, your leadership has restored people’s confidence in governance. I celebrate your achievements on this milestone anniversary,” Ogah stated.
The federal lawmaker described the governor’s performance in the past two years as a reflection of visionary leadership and a commitment to the well-being of the people.
