The Chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions and Member representing Ikwo/Ezza-South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, has charged youths in Ebonyi State to seize available empowerment opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the state’s development. Ogah gave the charge on Friday, December 12, 2025, while attending the 2025 Ebonyi Youth Summit and FON Youth Movement Award Night held in Abakaliki.
He commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for what he described as a youth-friendly and inclusive style of governance, noting that the administration has consistently prioritised programmes aimed at empowering young people across the state.
Ogah also praised the FON Youth Movement, led by Hon. Chinedu Emerike, for successfully organising an event that attracted youths from all the 13 local government areas of the state, describing the turnout as a reflection of growing youth engagement in governance and development.
He urged the youths to take full advantage of government empowerment initiatives, stressing that skill acquisition, entrepreneurship and active participation in productive ventures remain key to economic growth and self-reliance.
The event attracted top dignitaries, including the Governor’s representative, Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, former Governor Martin N. Elechi, who was represented, APC leaders, commissioners and other key stakeholders.
