EBOTRANS to Commence Installation of Car Tracking Devices

In a bid to enhance security and streamline operations, the Ebonyi State Transportation Corporation Service (EBOTRANS) has announced plans to deploy advanced car tracking devices across its entire fleet.

This decision was announced shortly after a comprehensive training session conducted on Monday, July 1, 2024.

Speaking on behalf of the general manager, Dr. Simon Idenyi, operational manager, Mr. Innocent Obiahu emphasized the critical need for increased security measures amidst rising incidents of vehicle theft and kidnapping in Nigeria.

Adding, “today’s training focused on empowering our drivers and staff with the skills to secure our vehicles effectively.

“We will install these tracking devices not only on government-owned vehicles but on all fleet vehicles”.

“By the special grace of God, the general manager Dr. Simon Idenyi has assured that immediately after the training, it will be installed without on all vehicles without delay”.

The focal person, Engr. Jonah Nte, highlighted that the initiative aims to bolster fleet management and optimize transport systems.

“With this new technology, we will ensure real-time monitoring of all vehicles, enabling us to track their movements and enhance accountability,” he explained.

“Additionally, we will introduce a waybill system akin to courier services, providing our clients with precise location updates on their goods in transit.”

The Manager Aba Depot, Nwite Stephen Alegu, praised the initiative, noting its potential to significantly improve security and operational efficiency.

Stating “the training is an eye opener, we appreciate our General Manager for giving us this opportunity on security tips, business wise to help us to put our job in order.

Similarly, the Manager of Abuja Depot, Nkwor Chibueze, expressed optimism about integrating the new technology into EBOTRANS’ transport infrastructure, highlighting its transformative impact on service delivery.
